How it works

What happens at launch. Nothing below is live yet; the waitlist is.

  1. 01

    Verify what you owe

You'll link your accounts through Plaid, the read-only connection budgeting apps use. A person reviews medical bills and rent. No verification, no listing.

  2. 02

    Get swiped

Donors browse verified cards and pick an amount, from fifty bucks to the whole balance. Show your face and story, or stay anonymous.

  3. 03

    Get bailed out

Money goes to your account. When your balance actually drops, you earn a public Paid Off badge, which is the proof donors want to see.

Drowning in bills?

Credit cards, student and auto loans, mortgage or rent, medical and utility bills.

  • Free to list. A small fee comes out of each payout, and the exact rate is published before launch.
  • Campaigns run on a timer. Come up short? Roll it over, or request what you've raised.
  • The public sees a teaser. Full details are for verified donors.

Bored? Rich? Both?

For the billionaire who has everything except someone else's Discover card balance.

  • Every balance is linked and checked. You're paying real bills, not stories.
  • Get a thank-you video, post the reveal, climb the leaderboard.
  • Or give in total silence. Anonymous is always an option.

Go the extra mile, get seen first

Each extra a recipient opts into shows as a badge on their card and moves it up the stack.

Questions

Is this real?

It's launching. Join the waitlist and you'll be among the first in when the doors open.

Are you affiliated with Elon Musk or X?

No. Billionaire Bailout isn't affiliated with Elon Musk, X Corp., or any billionaire. (Yet.)

Who can list their bills?

US residents 18 and older. Every listing has to be verified before it goes live: linked accounts for cards and loans, human review for medical bills and rent.

What does it cost?

Listing is free. A small platform fee is deducted from each payout. Exact pricing will be published before launch.

What if my bill only gets partly paid?

Campaigns run on a timer. If time runs out before you're fully funded, you can roll it over or request to withdraw what you've raised.

Is giving tax-deductible?

No. These are gifts from one person to another, not donations to a charity, so they aren't tax-deductible.

What about my privacy?

Visitors only see a teaser. Full stories and balances will be visible to verified donors only, and you can always list anonymously. See the privacy policy for what the waitlist collects.

I'm struggling with debt right now. Where can I get help today?

The National Foundation for Credit Counseling connects you with free or low-cost nonprofit counselors at nfcc.org. If money stress feels overwhelming, you can call or text 988 any time to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
